Sometimes the biggest decisions begin with an ordinary walk.
That was exactly how it happened for Varno Porovarde and his family. One evening, while walking in Pärnu, they noticed a sales advertisement introducing a new seaside residential development. The location immediately stood out, and their interest quickly turned into a concrete plan.
According to Varno, the family owned an apartment in the building opposite at the time, and it was during one of their evening walks that they spotted the advertisement for the new development. Their interest grew quickly, and before long they had reserved a new apartment. By the time the purchase agreement was signed, they had already started selling their previous apartment.
Looking back, however, the idea was not entirely new. A year earlier, while cycling past the same location, they had already talked about how wonderful it would be if apartments were ever built there.
Although the family’s everyday life is based near Tallinn, Pärnu has always held a special place in their hearts. Varno’s wife is originally from Pärnu, and owning a seaside holiday home there felt like the natural next step.
The location that made the decision
Vista Residents offered exactly what the family had been looking for. Close proximity to the sea, green surroundings, and all the conveniences of city life in one place.
According to Varno, the location was the deciding factor. Although the development is in an urban area, the surrounding trees and greenery create a peaceful and private atmosphere.
In addition to the sea and nature, the family highly values the nearby amenities. Shopping centres, supermarkets, a swimming pool, a gym, the beach, golf and disc golf courses, as well as marinas, are all just a short distance away.
The developer’s reputation also played an important role in their decision. Before making the final choice, the family familiarised themselves with the developer’s previous projects and gained confidence that they were choosing a reliable partner.

A home built together
The apartment was purchased at a time when the world was facing great uncertainty. The war in Ukraine had begun about a year earlier, and the construction industry was dealing with significant challenges. Despite this, the family never felt that the project might be left unfinished or that promises would not be kept.
According to Varno, they naturally considered the possible risks, but they had confidence in the project. He especially appreciates the developer’s flexibility and willingness to take the clients’ wishes into account.
Many changes were made to the apartment, and solutions were always found together. Today, the home reflects the family’s personal preferences, with many of the standard solutions replaced by customised choices.
Although construction took slightly longer than originally planned, the family does not see this as a problem. For them, the most important thing was that the result would be of high quality and that every detail would be completed properly.
Quality you notice every day
Today, the family highly values both the apartment’s interior finishes and the building’s technical solutions. They selected the tiles themselves and customised several of the standard features. They are very pleased with the final result.

The family especially appreciates the ability to manage various apartment functions even when they are not in Pärnu. Whenever needed, they can adjust the temperature, unlock doors, or simply check that everything is in order.

The interior was created in collaboration with several companies, including Softrend, Notopro, Lincona, and Arens. The result is a thoughtfully designed whole where every detail serves a purpose.
The apartment’s standout features are the custom-designed kitchen and the walk-in wardrobe, which at first glance appears more like an elegant design element than a separate room. Carefully selected materials and smart design solutions create an interior that is both timeless and unique.
For Brita, it was important to create an environment that reflects the family’s lifestyle and gives the feeling that every detail is exactly where it belongs.
A balcony that extends the summer
One of the family’s favourite places has become the spacious balcony overlooking the sea.
The wooden flooring installed on the balcony adds warmth and comfort, while the glass enclosure added later allows the space to be enjoyed much longer than a traditional balcony. According to Varno, the size of the balcony was one of those features whose true value became especially clear only after the apartment was completed.
Thanks to the glass enclosure, the balcony can be enjoyed even during the cooler months. The sea view and the changing seasons have become an important part of the family’s everyday life. It is here that they spend peaceful mornings, long summer evenings, and quality time together.
More than just a holiday apartment
According to Varno, the residents of Mai 79 are people who make thoughtful choices and have high expectations when it comes to quality. In his opinion, this clearly shows that the solutions implemented throughout the development have been carefully considered and have met residents’ expectations.
Today, the family continues to value the location, the proximity to the sea, and the cosy atmosphere that their Pärnu retreat offers.
Vista Residents consists of three seaside apartment buildings with a total of 62 homes. The first building, Mai 79, has already been completed, while the remaining two buildings, Mai 75 and Mai 77, will be completed by the end of this summer.
